The newest arrival at Auriga is a Australorpe X Rhode Island Red hen. A great layer who stands out in our flock of pure bred Light Sussex hens. The Light Sussex hens object to the colder weather so this little hen plus a new pure bred Australorpe keep a few eggs rolling in over the coldest months.

It’s New Years Day and a holiday at Auriga. Hot temperatures mean that a pool party at the dam was in order for everyone with swimming and sunbaking. It’s a hard life being a llama around here 😉
The llamas enjoying sunbaking and swimming during the hot Australian summer.
1500 Physalis peruviana (Golden Berry/Inca Berries/Cape Gooseberries)) all off to their new home. The greenhouse looking more spacious now and ready for hundreds of Murtilla – Myrtus ugni (Chilean Guava) cuttings and seedlings.
